Jeff Van Sickle, Senior Vice President - Business Development is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BA in Business Administration. His experience includes five years with Ford Motor Company where he served as Parts and Service Zone Manager for the Houston metropolitan market. By concentrating on the development and implementation of a series of new business procedures, he improved retail sales performance while enhancing customer service scores across the entire zone. In 2003, he received National recognition for his efforts in sales and in 2004 he was awarded the “Inuksuk” Leadership Award by regional management. He joined Briar Capital in early December 2005. He is currenty the Houston Chapter President of the Commercial Finance Association (CFA).

Laura Vanley, Senior Vice President – Business Development, is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a MS in Accounting. She received her CPA certification in 1992. She spent two years as an auditor with Grant Thornton before joining Bank One as a field examiner in 1989. She was with Bank One for 11 years in different roles including field examiner, field exam manager and credit underwriter for both the asset-based lending and mortgage warehouse finance groups. Most recently, she spent almost four years underwriting commercial mortgage loans for Capmark Finance’s Senior Housing & Healthcare Finance Group. She joined Briar Capital’s Dallas Office in 2009 to help grow the Dallas/ Fort Worth market presence.
